Going Green: Victoria+Albert Bath
Victoria + Albert is made of natural stone. Englishcast is a unique blend of at least 50% naturally occurring organic limestone.
Minimal manufacturing impact is a corporate goal. Processing Englishcast requires a fraction of the energy used in the furnace production of molten metal and enamel, so a Victoria + Albert freestanding bathtub requires less energy to manufacture than cast iron. Englishcast also uses significantly less energy than the high-heat ovens that are essential to form the plastic sheets used on acrylic tubs. In addition, all Victoria + Albert freestanding bathtubs are hand finished by craftsmen, reducing reliance on non-renewable sources. Victoria + Albert manufacturing facility filters and cleans manufacturing water that exits the manufacturing facility. The water that exits is cleaner than the water that comes in.
Victoria + Albert freestanding tubs are shipped in recycled cardboard on pallets made of reclaimed wood, with strapping made from recycled bottles.

Victoria + Albert freestanding tubs have another outstanding feature. Because the bath tubs are volcanic limestone, we are able to manufacture bigger bathing area in a smaller space. Great form and a smaller bathing area compared to other bath tub manufacturing processes. For example, the Edge freestanding 59” x 32” bath tub has a bathing area equal to most 72” acrylic tubs.
